Craft Messages That Get You Projects

📹 ✅ You’ve found a brand brief on Clip that’s a perfect fit. You’re ready to hit "Apply" - but wait!
Before you send that message, let’s talk about how to stand out in a crowded applications folder. Brands get tons of applications, and your message is your first impression. A strong, well-crafted pitch can be the difference between landing the project or getting overlooked.
Here’s how to make brands notice you (and say “yes” to working together!)

When applying to a brand’s brief, your message should be short, clear, and compelling. Think of it as your elevator pitch - you want to quickly show the brand why you’re a great fit.
Here’s a simple structure that works every time:
✅ Personalised Greeting – Use the brand name if possible!
✅ Why You? – Mention what makes you the perfect creator for this brief.
✅ Your Experience – Highlight a relevant past project or skill.
✅ Call to Action – Offer to send additional examples or ask a question to engage them.
🚀 Example Message:
"Hey [Brand Name]! I love your products and was excited to see this opportunity. I specialise in creating [type of content] and have worked on similar campaigns for [brand/industry]. My style aligns perfectly with your brand’s aesthetic, and I’d love to create something engaging for your audience. You can check out my portfolio in my Clip profile - let me know if you’d like to see more examples. Looking forward to working together!"

Brands always check your portfolio before making a decision. If your portfolio is outdated or missing key examples, you might be losing opportunities without even realising it!
✅ Show Your Best Work – Keep it relevant to the types of brands you want to work with. Also make sure your strongest work is kept at the top (most recent) so brands always see those first.
✅ Quality Over Quantity – A few strong examples are better than a cluttered portfolio - we know it’s tempting to keep them all!
✅ Regular Updates – Refresh your work every few months to showcase your latest content.

Your intro video is one of the first things brands see when checking your profile (sometimes the only one). It’s your chance to showcase your personality, energy, and content style in a few seconds. Make sure it:
✔️ Is short and engaging (30-60 seconds)
✔️ Clearly shows your face and voice
✔️ Highlights the type of content you create (show off editing if that’s your jam)
✔️ Reflects your unique style and personality (make it a testimonial with some work examples as a b-roll)

Speed matters - but thoughtful applications win. Here’s the deal: when a brand posts a brief on Clip, they’re usually eager to find the right creators quickly. In many cases, they’ll review applications as they come in and might even close the brief early once they’ve found the perfect fit.
So, yes - being fast gives you a competitive edge, but don’t just copy-paste a generic message and hit "send." Brands can spot a cookie-cutter pitch from a mile away, and nothing makes you blend into the crowd faster.
Here’s how to balance speed and quality:
✅ Set Alerts for New Briefs – Check Clip regularly or keep an eye for your regular emails to review the latest opportunities.
✅ Have a Base Template – Create a solid pitch template you can quickly customise for each brief - this makes it personal and specific.
✅ Personalise the Details – Mention something from the brief that excites you - whether it’s the product, the brand’s aesthetic, or the creative direction. Show that you’re paying attention.
✅ Show You Understand Their Needs – Brands love working with creators who “get” their vision. If the brief asks for an unboxing video with a fun, casual tone, mention how your style aligns with that.
🚀 Pro Tip: Before hitting “Apply,” ask yourself: If I were the brand, would I be excited to read this message? If the answer is yes, you’re good to go!
