🤖 ❌ Creators Are Letting AI Ruin Their Content!

Here's how to use it, and how to absolutely avoid it

Let’s talk about the tool everyone is using right now: 🤖 AI

And yes - it can be brilliant. It can save time, spark ideas, help when your brain feels empty and make the planning stage much quicker.

But… we’re also starting to see a new issue:

👉 creators relying on AI so heavily that their content starts losing the one thing brands actually hire them for: their human perspective.

Because AI can help you create faster. But it can also make your UGC feel:

  • repetitive

  • robotic

  • vague

  • strangely disconnected

So this week, let’s break down 3 smart ways to use AI - and 3 ways it can quietly make your content worse if you’re not careful 👇

🤖 1. Use AI To Tighten Your Message - Not To Write Your Personality

One of the best ways to use AI is after you already have an idea. For example:

You know what you want to say… but it feels too long, clunky or not quite flowing.

This is where AI can be genuinely helpful for:

  • tightening long sentences,

  • making testimonials flow better,

  • suggesting stronger pain-point language,

  • finding shorter punchier ways to say the same thing.

✅ Great use of AI:

“I wrote this testimonial - can you make it sound more concise and natural?”

That helps polish your message.

❌ Wrong use of AI:

“Write me a UGC testimonial for this product.”

Because then you often get:

  • generic wording,

  • robotic phrases,

  • lines no real person would naturally say

  • or something someone else already said

The second you copy AI word for word, the script loses warmth and authenticity. And viewers can feel that!

✍️ 2. Use AI For Ideas - Not For Fake Stories

AI is amazing for brainstorming when you feel stuck.

✅ Great use of AI:

  • hook ideas

  • script structures

  • alternative CTA wording

  • fresh ways to introduce a product

This can save so much mental energy.

❌ Wrong use of AI:

This is where creators get into trouble - asking AI to create the “personal story” too. That’s when scripts start sounding like:

  • “I have struggled with this issue for years…”

  • “This completely changed my life…”

  • “I’ve been using this every day for months…”

…while the video clearly shows you opening the packaging for the first time. That disconnect is immediately visible.

UGC works because it feels believable. The second the emotional line feels fake or exaggerated, trust drops.

So yes: let AI help you with the framework.

But the little personal details? Those should always come from you.

🧠 3. Use AI As A Starting Point - Never As The Final Answer

A lot of creators now take the very first ChatGPT script, hook list or CTA list…

and run with it.

No editing. No checking. No adjusting.

But AI doesn’t know:

  • the exact brand tone,

  • the visual direction,

  • the nuances of the brief,

  • what the brand specifically wants prioritised.

So what happens?

The content sounds okay on paper - but doesn’t fully align. Or worse - it sounds like every other AI-generated UGC script online.

That’s why so much AI-heavy content now feels repetitive: like it’s all been said before.

✅ Best practice:

Use AI to generate options.
Then choose, edit, rewrite and personalise.

Treat it like an assistant - not the creative director.

Because strategy still has to come from you!

✨ The Sweet Spot: AI + Human Thinking

AI can be incredibly useful when used for:

  • speeding up planning

  • organising thoughts

  • refining wording

  • generating new angles

But the final content still needs:
- your opinion
- your tone of voice
- your instinct
- your understanding of the brief

Brands are not hiring ChatGPT - they are hiring you.

✅ Smart AI Creator Checklist

Before using AI in your next project, ask:

☐ Did I use AI to assist, not fully create?
☐ Does this still sound like something I would actually say?
☐ Are any emotional lines genuinely believable?
☐ Does this align with the exact brief?
☐ Have I edited the AI output enough to make it mine?

If yes - you’re using it wisely 👀
