It’s hard to imagine anyone unaware of AI. It transforms industries, creating new opportunities, and raising important questions about its impact.

In this newsletter, we’ll explore the opportunities and CHALLENGES of AI in the UGC space - and trust us, there is a lot to cover!

So is using AI in UGC good?

Well, that depends on a multitude of factors. Let’s break it down:

  1. AS A RESEARCH TOOL

AI can analyse large volumes of UGC to identify emerging trends, popular topics, and audience preferences.

But also, tools like ChatGPT can help brainstorm content angles or scripts.

REMEMBER: AI tools are only as good as the data they analyse. If the UGC data contains biases, the outcomes may reflect or even worsen them.

Use AI to gather insights, but apply your human judgment and creativity to interpret and act on them.

  1. TO SPARK AN IDEA

AI tools can be great to help brainstorming ideas. When out of options or inspiration, AI can help find a pool of options for you to get inspired by.

When you struggle to make the content more YOU, AI can help too. It can tailor suggestions based on style or preferences.

REMEMBER: Use AI to spark an idea, not to “copy and paste” it into your script.

  1. TO INCREASE EFFICIENCY

We all wish we had more hours in a day and another set of hands to help us with daily UGC tasks. AI can be of help if used correctly.

AI can quickly help you identify trending topics or popular keywords without having to spend hours researching manually.

It can also help you find a voice right for the brand you work with.

REMEMBER: It’s important how you “speak” to ChatGPT - the info can be biased again, so keep your mind open!

  1. AS A FINAL CHECK

AI can automatically proofread text for grammar and spelling, ensuring that content is polished before it’s submitted.

It can even help in scanning your content for any potential copy-right issues (for example music, images or text).

Using AI as a final check can help reducing the chance of errors or issues slipping through the cracks.

REMEMBER: AI is just a tool - It’s here to enhance your work, not replace the human touch that makes content unique.

  1. TREATED AS A FINAL RESULT

AI can generate content, but it lacks the human touch, intuition, and creativity that make content truly unique and AUTHENTIC. Relying solely on AI will lead to repetitive or generic results.

Also, relying too much on AI can impact your personal connection with the niche or product, which as a result will mean lost connection with the audience.

DO NOT lose your authenticity, ever!

  1. TO COPY AND PASTE

We are all aware that we can use ChatGPT to write UGC scripts. Have you ever considered another creator can do the same for the same client?

Trust us, no one wants this. It’s embarrassing and might mean no more work for you - and that’s the last thing we want. Create the content you love, isn’t that why you became a creator in the first place?

  1. TO REPLACE HUMAN TOUCH

AVOID using AI-generated voices at all cost. We understand there are various reasons why it might be tempting (a horrible flu, thick accent or simply some insecurity).

However, your authentic self is ALWAYS better than AI, there is simply no other way to put it.

Instead, try to build your confidence or communicate with the brand before shooting your content.

  1. USED IN BLIND TRUST

Would you ever trust Google Translate 100% when travelling? We hope not.

We’re sure you’re aware that apps and technology simply miss the mark when it comes to human emotions and quirks.

Also, AI is based on a language model and data it’s fed. It is not infallible.

Instead, trust your gut and treat AI as a tool, not a solution - always!

So, now we know when to use AI, and when to look elsewhere (like deep inside our souls!). If only we knew how to speak to AI to get the best results… oh wait!

From sparking fresh ideas to making content creation faster and easier, AI is a real game-changer for creators.

But, it’s all about balance - AI should boost your creativity, not take over completely.

The secret? Know when to use AI and when to trust your own instincts.
