đŹ 4 UGC Creator Struggles No One Talks About (But We All Feel)
đŹ The quiet problems UGC creators face - and how to solve them

đč â Letâs skip the lighting tips and get real for a second. Being a UGC creator can be fun, creative and empowering - but also⊠confusing, repetitive, and weirdly isolating sometimes, right?
There are some struggles we all deal with, but no oneâs really saying out loud. Until now.
Letâs unpack 4 niche, under-discussed UGC problems - and what to actually do when they sneak up on you.

1. đ¶ You Canât Tell What âYour Voiceâ Is Anymore
The Problem:
Youâve shot so many videos in so many brand voices that you start sounding like a voice actor. One day youâre bubbly and Gen Z-coded, the next youâre calm and corporate. Now youâre reading your new script and wondering:
âWait⊠do I sound like me at all?â
Why It Matters:
Your authenticity is your value. If your voice starts feeling too "shape-shifty," your content can lose its spark - and worse, you can lose your creative identity.
How to Deal:
Inject one consistent element into every video - a tone, phrase, gesture, or even your pacing. Thatâs your personal brand glue.
Make room for unpaid content at least once a month. Try a personal âmock UGCâ just for fun - no brief, no pressure. Try to sell a banana, or a shoe lace - it sounds ridiculous, but can help generate that creative flair again!
Use the âWould I say this IRL?â filter on every script. If it feels robotic, rework it. Make sure itâs something youâd actually say to a friend (unless requested otherwise).
đŻ Remember: youâre hired for your relatability, not just your camera angles.

2. đč Youâre Filming the Same Shot Over and Over
The Problem:
Every video starts looking identical. Flat lay. Face shot. Product wave. Talking head. Repeat. Kiss to camera at the end. Your camera roll looks like a copy-paste job and you feel uninspired.
Why It Matters:
Audiences scroll fast - visual sameness means faster drop-off. Brands are paying for scroll-stopping variation, not rinse-and-repeat templates.
How to Deal:
Use micro-perspective shifts. Take one 5-second shot and break it into 3 clips: one from eye-level, one from a low angle, one from overhead. Same action, new dynamic.
Switch up your POVs:
Overhead ("birdâs-eye") for lifestyle scenes, spice it up!
Eye-level for trust-building
Low-angle ("from below") for drama or power
From-behind ("POV-style") for that real authentic âfollow meâ vibe
Outside-of-box (Camera POV, overlays etc.) for that creative and scroll-stopping moment
Incorporate movement - slow pans, hand-offs, product-in-use transitions. Think transitions without special effects. All these little things make your video special.
Leave room for unexpected moments - you dropped the bottle? Try to add it to your video with a little cheeky smile! Something made you laugh in between shots? Perfect - try to add that moment in a story-telling way!
đŻ Every 2â3 seconds, change something: angle, framing, or action. Keep the viewer visually engaged at all times. This will also make your brain think of new ways how to showcase products.

3. đ§ Youâre Out of âNew Routineâ Angles
The Problem:
Youâve shown your skincare routine. And your shower shelf. And your oat milk latte moment. Now the brief says: âMake it lifestyleâ - and youâre stuck.
Why It Matters:
UGC lives and dies on relatability. But repetitive setups = viewer fatigue. If you're bored while filming, they'll be bored while watching.
How to Deal:
Focus on tiny human moments: the click of a button, the steam rising from the kettle, the messy drawer before the routine, perhaps tightening your robe.
Layer your b-roll: Show the routine from both your POV and the productâs. E.g., opening a bottle from your hand, then from the productâs âperspective.â Same with opening a cupboard - break it down from the outside and inside.
Use storytelling tweaks:
Instead of âMy morning routineâ â âJoin me on my 5-9 before my 9-5â
Instead of âUnboxingâ â âWhatâs been living in my cart for 3 weeks and is finally hereâ
đŻ Same story, new entry point. Itâs all about framing (literally and narratively).

4. đ„Ž You Donât Know If Your Content Is Even Good Anymore
The Problem:
You script, film, edit - and then second-guess everything. âItâs too basic.â âI hate my voice.â âWill they even like this?â
Why It Matters:
Burnout often comes disguised as perfectionism or imposter syndrome. When your creativity becomes self-doubt, itâs easy to procrastinate, spiral, or even miss the expectations from the brief.
How to Deal:
Pause before submitting your final video. Walk away and rewatch later with fresh eyes - 90% of the time, itâs better than you think. The other 10% - you can make that little editing tweak that will make your ad SO much better.
Send a draft to a fellow creator or friend. Donât ask âIs this good?â Ask: âWould you keep watching?â
Create a mental checklist for âgood enoughâ:
Did it hook in 3 seconds?
Did I explain the product clearly?
Did I match the briefâs tone/goal?
Did I add a natural CTA?
đŻ Your job isnât to create âperfect.â Itâs to create engaging, authentic content that speaks to a real human on the other side of the screen.
â Final Creator Self-Check
Before you hit submit on your next draft, ask yourself:
â Did I bring my voice, even while following the brandâs?
â Did I shoot from at least two different angles or POVs?
â Did I make a familiar routine feel fresh or personal?
â Did I stick to what the brief asked for - without overthinking it?
Keep this checklist saved, and pull it out when your camera roll starts to look like déjà vu.
Thereâs nothing wrong with facing these moments - but you donât have to stay stuck in them. Youâve got this đ
